Sun Certifying Ubuntu
Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth has been telling Reuters that Sun is in the process of certifying Ubuntu on some of its low-end and mid-size hardware. The code it's certifying is Hardy Heron, the Ubuntu 8.04 rev that's due out later this month. Sun told the wire service that it's making sure its Java programming language, tools and Java server are compatible with Heron.

Thats strange, I've had no performance issues with Java under linux. (I will admit I had permgen errors after a few back to back deployments in JBoss, but we had that on Windows as well...and I think it was worse). |

Does this mean that you guys wil be increasing Java performance on Linux boxes? Currently, I am forced to use expensive windows licenses for thin clients because the web application I wrote to drive them uses Java, and the performance under Linux is pretty sad. |
