NextStudent, the Phoenix-based premiereducation funding company, recommends that students and their familiesresearch lenders before choosing one to fund their student loans. The Higher EducationAct mandates that colleges cannot require students to fund their FederalFamily Education Loan Program (FFELP) loans through the preferred lenderssuggested by their financial aid offices. Students and their parents havethe right to look for the best deal when it comes to funding their studentloans, including both the subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford and PLUSLoans.
