MLB.com to Offer Exclusive Live Video Webcasts of Events Surrounding the Inaugural Civil Rights Game

NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- MLB.com, the first official website of Major League Baseball, will offer exclusive coverage of today's roundtable discussion entitled "Baseball and the Civil Rights Movement." The live video webcast will be available, free, on BaseballChannel.TV on MLB.com from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. ET, direct from the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN. The roundtable is part of Major League Baseball's celebration of the historic events surrounding the civil rights movement. The roundtable discussion will be moderated by Harvard Law Professor Charles Ogletree, and will include Branch Rickey III, whose grandfather signed Jackie Robinson for the Brooklyn Dodgers; Bill White, a former All-Star Player and the first African American President of the National League; Dave Winfield, the Hall of Fame outfielder now a vice president of the San Diego Padres, and Kenny Williams, the general manager of the Chicago White Sox and the only African American currently in that post at the MLB level. MLB.com's exclusive live coverage will continue on Saturday from Memphis with the pre-game show from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. ET. The inaugural exhibition Civil Rights Game presented by Auto Zone between the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals and the Cleveland Indians will be played at downtown Memphis Auto Zone Park beginning at 5:30 P.M.
