In a wonderfully eccentric posting last week entitled 'Does the old school accept blogging?' Alan Williamson suggests not only that I am a late adopter to the world of blogging, dragged-reluctantly-into-the-future-through-a-hedge-backwards kind of thing, but also that the reason for this is - not to beat about the bush - that I'm more or less a hidebound relic of a bygone age. So permit me quickly to extinguish both myths.
