Actuate Corporation has announced Information Object Designer, which enables application developers to significantly reduce the time spent in developing re-useable views of enterprise data. The Eclipse based Information Object Designer enables organizations to quickly develop and deliver customized applications to hundreds of thousands of employees, partners and customers inside and outside the enterprise firewall.
Most Business Intelligence tools and applications prohibit the majority of employees, business partners and customers from accessing enterprise information due to the complex nature of using a suite of BI tools designed for business analysts.
Actuate’s unique application development approach to business intelligence allows companies to create customized applications that address specific business and operational process needs with no end-user training required.
Information Objects can access the summary warehouse data used by business analysts as well as the transaction data used by operational employees. The ability to combine planning and detail data is particularly useful for applications used by customers and partners outside the firewall.
The Actuate Platform accesses the Information Objects’ meta data layer to produce printed reports, dashboards, interactive web reports, live Excel spreadsheets or analytic cubes. The Information Object Designer allows the developer to build specific BI applications that serve the needs of 100% of the user community, not just the 5% of power users who utilize the analytic BI stacks provided by other BI solutions.
