DUBLIN, Ireland, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c16355 ) has announced the addition of The VoIP Market in Europe; Birth of the Tel-iphone to their offering.

Traditional TDM voice networks with their reliance on a mixture of flat monthly line rental and metered call charges, related to call duration and distance, are giving way to IP networks which can only earn revenue based on a flat monthly charge. Although the latter will be difficult for PC-to-PC calls, VoIP service revenue will take an increasing share of total voice call revenue, particularly in the enterprise market. Incumbents will need to conjure up new ways of earning voice revenue based not just on a simple voice services model but on a total package encompassing voice, Internet access, email, presence and video on demand. Fixed line revenues are also under constant threat from mobile networks and with 3G now beginning to develop more momentum, alternatives such as WiMAX will need to be carefully evaluated to build a sustainable fixed and portable business model. The definition of the tel-iphone has, it seems, only just begun.
