iTKO LISA, the leading provider of testing, validation and virtualization solutions for SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) and enterprise software, today announces an integrated edition of its LISA 4.5 software within Eclipse, offering unparalleled capabilities for automating unit, functional, regression, load and performance testing within the workflow of the world’s leading development platform.
The new LISA Eclipse Edition offers deep integration with many aspects of the platform, including the IDE, Source Control, Lifecycle Management, SWT interface elements, and other tools that operate inside of Eclipse. LISA test case documents can be stored and executed within the workflow of any Eclipse-based development project.
“We are committed to ensuring that our customers can leverage LISA to ensure quality throughout the software lifecycle using their process tools of choice,” said John Michelsen, founder and Chief Scientist, iTKO. “With LISA Eclipse Edition, we have provided a very complete set of features that will ultimately make developers more productive and agile within the Eclipse platform.”
LISA’s no-code UI within Eclipse allows developers to rapidly build and execute tests, without changing context to another tool to test. Components and integration code under development can immediately be discovered, invoked and exercised, without the need for developing a test client, or writing and compiling test code.
“When developers can open, share, and run LISA test cases within the Eclipse environment, they are able to start testing and validating at a component level much earlier in the process, with a much higher level of productivity,” said Michelsen. “Agile, test-driven practices become much easier to implement when you are able to rapidly test and iterate using LISA Eclipse Edition, and carry that effort through every stage of the software lifecycle.”
Existing suites of test code, such as JUnit tests, are also executable within LISA, and LISA can be invoked from within JUnit tests, ensuring that existing test development efforts remain relevant to development teams. LISA extends testing efforts from unit and component-level testing, to automated build and regression testing, integration testing, and system-wide load and performance testing.
