$700 billion "Stabilization Act" Defeated 228-205

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In the 24 hours prior to historic defeat of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 vote, the NoCashforTrash.org website experienced a surge in traffic and sign ups. The NoCashforTrash.org coalition collectively achieved over 30,000 signatures, with NoCashforTrash.org organizing nearly 2,000 activists actively tracking and opposing the legislation.
