"Our strategic relationship with VMware will help ensure that Terremark continues to stay at the leading-edge of the technological advances that will shape the IT industry for years to come," said Manuel D. Medina, Terremark’s Chairman and CEO, as Terremark Worldwide today announced its relationship with VMware as part of the VMware vCloud Initiative.

VMware’s Virtual Datacenter Operating System (VDC-OS) is an integral component of the Enterprise Cloud, which provides enterprises a revolutionary managed platform for mission-critical applications and infrastructure.
Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud customers buy a dedicated resource pool of processing, memory, storage and networking, from which they can deploy servers on demand, giving customers more flexibility and agility over the traditional server-based model and allowing for a precise and dynamic allocation of computing resources as needed.
“Enterprises are ready for cloud computing and VMware’s ecosystem of world-class partners, such as Terremark, offers our customers innovative, complete cloud solutions,” said Dan Chu, vice president of Emerging Products and Markets for VMware. “Terremark’s Enterprise Cloud provides the utility-based computing capabilities that companies need to meet their growing IT demands. Our work with Terremark is designed to help our mutual customers have the flexibility and scalability to manage their IT infrastructure most efficiently.”
The Enterprise Cloud is powered by an enhanced version of Terremark’s industry-leading Infinistructure utility computing platform, which combines VMware’s industry-leading virtualization suite with Terremark’s proprietary service management platform, and leverages the company’s top-tier data centers as well as access to massive and diverse network connectivity. As a partner in VMware’s vCloud, Terremark is able to leverage the advanced mobility, reliability and broad application support VMware Infrastructure uniquely offers enterprises.
“As we continue to work with leaders like VMware to bring superior cloud computing services to enterprises, our customers will benefit from the scalability and control the Enterprise Cloud provides,” said Medina,
VMware’s vCloud is a common set of cloud computing platform services with broad application support for enterprises and cloud computing providers. More than 100 major vendors are participating in the overall vCloud initiative, and the entire vCloud partner ecosystem can be found here.
