Moving Into the Data Clean-Up Business with A Software Module that Indentifies Duplicated Records and Incorrect Street Addresses

Talend, the open source company with the SaaS data integration software, is now moving into the data clean-up business with a software module that identifies stuff like duplicated records and incorrect street addresses by comparing them against reference data from places like the US Postal Service.

Talend Data Quality, which comes out in September, combines data integration, data profiling and data quality. It will be available standalone or as part of the internally hosted Talend Integration Suite.

Talend, which sells support, claims to cost a fifth what a proprietary solution costs. Figure $15,000 a seat.

The company is backed by AGF Private Equity and Galileo Partners and claims clients such as Allianz, Monster.com, DuPont, Pitney Bowes and the European Commission. Its widgetry works with the major databases and CRM solutions.
