New Member to the Eclipse Foundation
Mar. 5, 2008 04:15 PM
Protecode announced that they have joined the Eclipse
Foundation, a not-for-profit, open source community, whose projects are focused
on building an open development platform that helps cultivate both an open
source community and an ecosystem of complementary products and services.
Protecode will launch its preventative intellectual
property management solution; this solution will mark an
innovation in the world of software development.
"The Eclipse open development platform is perfectly
suited to leverage the industry's first proactive solution to dealing with
their intellectual property," said Mahshad Koohgoli, CEO of
Protecode. "We expect to change the
way developers track, monitor and log content in software. This is critical in open source environments
where code pedigree has a direct impact on intellectual property ownership, and
is especially well suited for software quality demands that are paramount to
the Eclipse community."
"Whenever members use our conferences to launch new
innovative technology, it helps us draw more attention to Eclipse," said
Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of Eclipse Foundation. "Protecode's
new product announcement is an important addition to the Eclipse
ecosystem."
