FLORHAM PARK, N.J., March 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Global Crossing , a leading global IP solutions provider, today announced that it will provide global telecommunications services to its partner AT&T Government Solutions, a business unit of AT&T Inc., that was awarded the Networx Universal contract yesterday by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

Under the Networx Universal contract, Global Crossing will support AT&T in its efforts to compete for task orders for telecommunications, networking, and related services. These include such in-demand government services as SDH/SONET, optical wavelength, international private line, Ethernet, video collaboration and dark fiber.

In addition to Global Crossing, the AT&T-led team consists of industry- leading networking and IT partners such as Northrop Grumman Information Technology of McLean, Va.; EDS of Herndon, Va.; GTSI Corp. of Chantilly, Va.; SRA International, Inc. of Fairfax, Va.; Bechtel National of Frederick, Md; and Cingular Wireless of Atlanta, Ga. Cingular is now part of the new AT&T.

Networx Universal is an Indefinite Delivery - Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with a potential value of $20 billion over the next ten years.

Networx consists of two contract vehicles to which the AT&T team has submitted bids: Networx Universal, which was awarded on March 29, 2007, and Networx Enterprise, which is expected to be awarded in May. Networx will replace the expiring GSA Federal Technology Service 2001 (FTS2001) and FTS2001 Crossover contract vehicles.

The IDIQ contract gives AT&T, Global Crossing, its partners, and others the right to compete for specific task orders within the scope of the Networx Universal contract.
