NGINX Plus Now Certified for Alcatel-Lucent OpenTouch Unified Communication Solution

High Performance Reverse Proxy Solution provides cost and flexibility advantages for on premise and cloud based OpenTouch deployments

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Nginx Inc., the high performance web acceleration company today announced that its flagship, commercially supported product NGINX Plus has been certified to operate as a Reverse Proxy with the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OpenTouch Suite for Mid-sized and Large Enterprises –  flagship Unified Communication Solution Platform.

NGINX Plus is the ideal low-TCO Reverse Proxy element that enables mobile workforce and home workers to benefit from the OpenTouch Suite capabilities such as one-tap access to enterprise phone directory, user presence, notifications, web conferences and multi-device routing and switching wherever they are. OpenTouch Conversation PC and My IC Mobile Android software clients connect to NGINX Plus, get authenticated and get routed to the OpenTouch servers on premise or in a cloud. NGINX Plus also secures guests accessing OpenTouch Conversation from the OpenTouch Conversation for Web browser-based application. NGINX Plus provides significant advantages for businesses when deployed as part of the OpenTouch Suite such as reduced infrastructure cost, enhanced quality of service (QoS) and flexibility to work in both on premise or cloud based deployments. Additionally advanced routing, security and high availability features enhance deployments and facilitate collaboration and user centric multimedia capabilities found on the OpenTouch communication platform.

Nginx Plus can easily manage thousands of connected clients and can scale seamlessly to match unpredictable levels of demand and bandwidth requirements driven by multimedia applications and always-on mobile clients and devices. Security is also first in mind with class leading redirection and security policies that keep homeworker and client devices secure when accessing OpenTouch servers in the trusted zone. Users can be authenticated by NGINX Plus using Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OpenTouch authentication web service to get through the firewall.

As a Reverse Proxy NGINX Plus provides advanced load balancing capabilities with support for round robin, least connected and IP hash algorithms and continuously monitors the health of upstream servers. Real-time activity monitoring provides key load and performance metrics and can be connected to dashboards and third party monitoring tools using a simple RESTful JSON Interface. NGINX Plus also can be configured for High Availability with active standby, live binary upgrades and graceful restart with nonstop request processing.
