3Pillar Global's SocialAuth Libraries Break 50,000 Download Mark

Adoption reinforces commitment to providing businesses with open source tools and resources needed to bring new software products to market quickly

FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- 3Pillar Global, a leading developer of innovative software products, today announced that its popular open source SocialAuth libraries have been downloaded more than 50,000 times. SocialAuth is a product of 3Pillar Labs, the internal R&D division of 3Pillar Global. 3Pillar Labs focuses on creating solution accelerators for issues commonly faced by clients and evaluating emerging technologies to assess their viability, impact, and potential to create tangible value for clients.

SocialAuth enables seamless authentication for applications via OAuth, an open standard for user authentication. Unlike other authentication libraries, which either allow authentication from few external sources or require a myriad of dependencies, SocialAuth currently allows authentication from 14 different messaging and social media sources, including Gmail, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, all from a simple library. In addition, the library provides a consistent API to add more sources and a plug-in architecture to add custom capabilities within a source.

"SocialAuth is a user-friendly library that simplified our ability to rapidly launch and grow a social platform for our members, enabling them to connect with each other in a whole new way," said Samir Desai, Vice President of Technology Solutions at Equinox, an upscale, full-service fitness company. "3Pillar was able to understand our objective from the start, helping us develop and implement the right technologies to ensure that we met our goals."

3Pillar Labs is dedicated to understanding and exploring how emerging technologies can be leveraged in order to create tangible value for businesses. 3Pillar Labs actively evaluates these technologies and develops intellectual property that its delivery teams can deploy to a wide array of customers. Current areas of focus include augmented reality, wearables, IoT (the Internet of Things), and Bluetooth LE/Beacon technology.

"Engaging with 3Pillar is more than merely outsourcing a software development project. We are collaborative, iterative, and offer an arsenal of tools and resources that foster rapid deployment of next-generation software products that enhance customer engagement," said David DeWolf, CEO of 3Pillar Global. "The outstanding adoption of SocialAuth is a reflection of our team's ability to digest clients' business goals and deliver the exact solution required."
