Merchant Warehouse Accelerates Partner Channel Expansion

Company Announces 100 Percent Partner Channel Account Growth, New Hires to Support Genius Customer Engagement Platform Integrations

BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/06/14 -- Payment technologies leader Merchant Warehouse® today announced 100 percent growth in its partner channel since the second quarter of 2013 and the hiring of new talent to significantly increase platform integrations. Merchant Warehouse's partner channel momentum is driven by the company's constantly evolving Genius™ Customer Engagement Platform™ and an accelerating demand from point of sale (POS) developers to integrate with Genius.

The Genius Customer Engagement Platform is a holistic, cloud-based payments solution. With the ability to securely accept any payment type, including credit cards and alternative payments, Genius connects to any POS system or commerce platform so businesses can grow as new technology enters the market. Genius' continuous growth has led to an increase in platform deployments, which have doubled each quarter for the past year.

"Technology is rapidly changing the payments industry for small businesses, large retailers and their customers. The insatiable demand for Merchant Warehouse's Genius solution is proof that businesses are eager to address this demand head-on," said Henry Helgeson, CEO, Merchant Warehouse. "To support this growth, Merchant Warehouse is making key investments, both in personnel and in product development, to provide retailers and other businesses with the flexible technology they need to compete in today's market."

In the past six months, Merchant Warehouse bolstered its partner channel by making significant investments in talent. The partner channel team grew by more than 60 percent, adding strategic new hires like Marc Pepe as senior sales engineer, and John Pleau as new business development director. Pepe joins Merchant Warehouse from PayPal, where he oversaw pre-sales solutions and integrations for the company's retail POS system and commerce platform. Pepe brings additional experience from Ingenico, where he was instrumental in growing channel sales tenfold over a five-year period. Pepe's unique background in both mobile payments and POS integrations will add substantial expertise to Merchant Warehouse's engineering team. Pleau's experience includes managing integrations at Equinox Payments with retail and healthcare software developers. At Merchant Warehouse, Pleau recruits leading POS developers to the company's partner network and works closely with key retail accounts.

To ensure the Genius platform continues to offer POS developers unmatchable value, Merchant Warehouse also expanded its team of software developers. The company now employs a full-time technology and product team of nearly 100 across its Boston and Belfast offices to drive the continued evolution of Genius. These employees spearhead the development of Genius platform enhancements, including the recently announced features Signature On-Demand, Line Item Display and On-Screen Advertising functionalities. This ever-expanding feature set gives Merchant Warehouse's partner channel a competitive edge.

Since the second quarter of 2013, Merchant Warehouse has set a record pace for new partner channel accounts. With several market-leading POS developers scheduled for Genius integration within the coming months, Merchant Warehouse will continue to broaden this partnership network. Additionally, Merchant Warehouse has added specialized marketing groups to further support and train partners and resellers as the ISO, ISV and POS markets converge.

Merchant Warehouse and the Genius Platform will be on display at the company's RSPA RetailNOW booth #801, August 5-6, 2014 in Orlando, FL. Details about Merchant Warehouse and Genius can be found at www.merchantwarehouse.com/genius.
