CINCINNATI, Dec. 8, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Pampers(R), a trusted name in baby and toddler care for more than 45 years, is celebrating the spirit of the holiday season by spreading the message of peace and hope to families across the country. Now through January 2, 2007, Pampers is making available a special holiday e-card based on the company's highly popular annual holiday commercial featuring sleeping babies from around the world. Anyone can customize the free card and send a seasonal video wish of peace and joy this holiday season, and with every card sent, Pampers will donate $1 to America's Second Harvest and will guarantee a total donation of $25,000 to the nation's largest domestic charitable hunger-relief organization.
"This holiday season, we are proud to help spread peace and hope to those in need - and all families - through our holiday e-card program and the donation to America's Second Harvest," said Carlos DeJesus, Associate Marketing Director of Pampers Baby and Toddler Care, North America, and father of three. "Pampers has always been committed to helping improve the lives of babies, toddlers and the parents who care for them - whether we're helping babies have a peaceful night's sleep or reaching and helping families in need through partnerships with important organizations like America's Second Harvest."
Anyone can initiate a donation to America's Second Harvest, helping to provide food and daily personal care products to millions of families, by simply logging onto http://www.pampers.com/ and sending a holiday e-card to their friends and family. In addition to selecting the greeting, parents also can customize the holiday card by uploading a picture of their child, creating a wonderful keepsake memento to share with their loved ones. The digital card is enhanced with a beautiful audio rendition of "Silent Night" and video from the popular Pampers holiday commercial that shows babies sleeping peacefully from around the world, which has touched the hearts of parents who have embraced its "peace on earth" message for the last 3 years.
"There is nothing more peaceful and rewarding for a parent than watching their baby blissfully sleeping, then waking for a great morning," continued DeJesus. "And this holiday season, Pampers wants to spread that warmth and a message of peace and hope to families all across the country through our donation and special greeting program."
America's Second Harvest is the nation's largest domestic charitable hunger-relief organization and features a network of more than 200 member food banks and food rescue organizations. Last year, the America's Second Harvest Network provided food and supplies assistance to more than 25 million low- income hungry people in the United States, including more than nine million children. Historically Pampers is one of the largest donors of diapers to America's Second Harvest Network, giving 47,000 cases of diapers annually.
