NEW YORK, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- XYZprinting, dedicated to being the number one global brand in 3D printing, today announced the pricing, features and availability on its 2014 line of desktop 3D printers, which includes da Vinci 1.0, da Vinci 2.0 Duo and da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus. Priced from $499 to $849, the da Vinci product line features three distinct high-quality, easy-to-use desktop 3D printers and the new high-end machines will be on display this week at the Inside 3D Printing Conference and Expo in New York.

All of the da Vinci machines require no assembly, are equipped with innovative safety features and include a free one year limited warranty. The printers are currently compatible with ABS plastic and are set to be compatible with PLA by Q4. Showcased earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show, the $499 da Vinci 1.0 is now available for purchase in the U.S. on Amazon.com and is for the first time making high-grade 3D printing technology available to consumers at an affordable price. The next generation of XYZprinting machines, da Vinci 2.0 Duo and da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus, are dual-color machines that will be available in Q2 and Q3 for $649 and $849 respectively.

The da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus is the most advanced machine and features Wi-Fi connectivity, remote access through a mobile app and built in camera, and an easy-to-use touch panel for an interactive and seamless 3D printing experience. Key features of the 2.1 Duo Plus model include:

  • Stand-alone Printer: Featuring a USB port and Android-based 5'' color LCD touch panel, the da Vinci 2.1 Duo Plus is a Wi-Fi enabled machine that can be managed and operated without a connection to a desktop or laptop computer. More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...

Fifty billion connected devices and still no winning protocols standards. HTTP, WebSockets, MQTT, and CoAP seem to be leading in the IoT protocol race at the moment but many more protocols are getting introduced on a regular basis. Each protocol has its pros and cons depending on the nature of the communications. Does there really need to be only one protocol to rule them all? Of course not. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Chris Matthieu, co-founder and CTO of Octoblu, walk you through how Oct...

The Internet of Things (IoT), in all its myriad manifestations, has great potential. Much of that potential comes from the evolving data management and analytic (DMA) technologies and processes that allow us to gain insight from all of the IoT data that can be generated and gathered. This potential may never be met as those data sets are tied to specific industry verticals and single markets, with no clear way to use IoT data and sensor analytics to fulfill the hype being given the IoT today.
