VirtualWorks Brings ViaWorks Universal Search Capabilities to Alfresco One Enterprise Content Management Platform

VirtualWorks Group, an Alfresco Technology Partner, today announced at the AIIM 2014 Conference the certification and immediate availability of the ViaWorks™ Connector for the Alfresco One Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system and its integration into the Alfresco Share interface. ViaWorks allows companies to easily search and instantly retrieve all enterprise information sitting inside, outside and across multiple Alfresco installations – from inside Alfresco.

The ViaWorks Connector unifies search results from external applications and data sources residing outside the Alfresco One ECM system – such as SharePoint, Exchange, OpenText and legacy application repositories – into a single, searchable interface. The newly certified integration brings universal search capabilities from inside the Alfresco Share interface. VirtualWorks is making the APIs for this integration into the Alfresco Share interface available under an open source license, so it can be freely used and modified by the Alfresco developer community.

“We are excited to introduce ViaWorks as the latest Alfresco Certified Technology,” said Peter Monks, Director of Technology Ecosystems for Alfresco. “VirtualWorks shows their leadership in the community by engaging in the process of certification so our mutual customers have the ability to search for content across their Alfresco environments and beyond. Importantly, ViaWorks lets our customers do this all from within the familiar Alfresco Share interface, boosting productivity and reducing frustration caused by logging in and out of multiple systems to find pertinent information.”

“We are proud to be a Certified Alfresco Partner who can deliver immediate value to their customer base and help grow their communities’ reach,” said Erik Baklid, VirtualWorks President and CEO. “ViaWorks helps companies navigate the chaos inherent in disparate systems by bringing together all the critical information employees need to be effective, whether inside or outside Alfresco, thereby, multiplying customers’ ROI.”

ViaWorks is designed to enable any application, portal or environment to imbed universal search capabilities. It does not matter where data lives, so there’s no need for file conversion or migration. It also eliminates the need to manually tag or organize files in advance, so people don’t have to change the way they work.
