What's new with Red Hat Storage

red hatWhen you think of Red Hat, you have to acknowledge its contribution to the Linux interface but now there is a new kid on the block whom Red Hat wants to befriend.  That is none other than the OpenStack which is seen in their new release of OpenStack-friendly release of the cloud Storage Server. The latest Red Hat Storage Server (RHSS) 2.1 has succeeded in combining two well known and well used units, namely the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4 and oVirt.  Therefore, you get an open source platform for virtualization and an XFS File System storage.  So the user gets to deploy the open storage which is software-defines along with the performance, manageability and capabilities of an enterprise level software.

The new RHSS 2.1 release is packed with features which the user has been looking out for and after a long research on market needs, Red Hat has launched its masterpiece.  The new features include a private cloud stack ideal for OpenStack users for storage capabilities which are available through Object Storage (Swift) API layer.  You can also access the back-end of the Cinder and Glance storage systems.  You can also have a disaster plan by using its geographical replication features which can be used to replicate data from a WAN link which in turn ensures protection and seamless storage.

You must also consider the RHCI (Red Hat Cloud Infrastructure) which will enable businesses to construct their own private cloud and manage it on their own.  RHCI sees to it that the cloud will be scalable and secure which will enable traditional organizations who wish to shift from their traditional deployments to the latest in cloud technology.   The focus is now on Iaas and hybrid cloud system management wherein Red Hat has got the upper hand through its RHCI.

Things simply get better when one uses JBoss middleware stack to build applications which can be used with the Red Hat OpenStack cloud.  The interested party is also helped by Red Hat by being provided with Windup so that they can make the most of JBoss Enterprise applications.   Conclusively, Red Hat is combining all its efforts to become your one-stop solution for all your enterprise needs.
