Garantia Data Changes Company Name to Redis Labs

Garantia Data, the leader in enterprise-class Redis and Memcached solutions for developers, today announced its new company name, Redis Labs. This corporate re-branding reflects the company’s position as a leading database-as-a-service provider in the Redis ecosystem, as well as its ongoing dedication to making Redis one of the top databases of choice among developers in years to come.

“Redis is one of the fastest-growing NoSQL databases, with a vibrant open source community and high visibility users that require super-fast read/write capabilities,” said Ofer Bengal, chief executive officer and co-founder of Redis Labs. “Today’s name change aligns with our commitment to making Redis a cornerstone of every application with demanding performance requirements.”

Completely served from RAM, Redis is the fastest data store available today. It is one of the most popular databases for new applications, supporting use cases such as real time analytics, social timelines and notifications, job management and geo-search.

With its fully-managed Redis Cloud service, Redis Labs is helping tens of thousands of application developers benefit from infinite scalability, high availability, top performance, and hands-off management. Over 45,000 Redis Cloud databases have been created to date and the company currently has over 1,300 paying customers.

While its primary focus is Redis, Redis Labs also continues to support the Memcached community with its Memcached Cloud service. Powered by Redis technology, this solution enhances open source Memcached with storage engine, replication and auto-failover capabilities.

"Avere Systems deals with data performance optimization in the cloud or on-premise. Even to this day many organizations struggle with what we call the problem of data gravity - 'Where should I put the data?' - because the data dictates ultimately where the jobs are going to run," explained Scott Jeschonek, Director Cloud Solutions at Avere Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 21st Cloud Expo, held Oct 31 – Nov 2, 2017, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
If a machine can invent, does this mean the end of the patent system as we know it? The patent system, both in the US and Europe, allows companies to protect their inventions and helps foster innovation. However, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be set to disrupt the patent system as we know it. This talk will examine how AI may change the patent landscape in the years to come. Furthermore, ways in which companies can best protect their AI related inventions will be examined from both a US and...

The hierarchical architecture that distributes "compute" within the network specially at the edge can enable new services by harnessing emerging technologies. But Edge-Compute comes at increased cost that needs to be managed and potentially augmented by creative architecture solutions as there will always a catching-up with the capacity demands. Processing power in smartphones has enhanced YoY and there is increasingly spare compute capacity that can be potentially pooled. Uber has successfully ...
