Venture Capital permite a la tienda online SEOshop conquistar Europa

HENQ invierte 1,1 millones en la compañía de rápida expansión de e-commerce de los Países Bajos

Una inyección de capital de riesgo de 1,1 millones de euros por medio de HENQ ha permitido a la compañía de tienda online holandesa SEOshop, que ha llevado a cabo la plataforma de e-commerce de expansión más rápida en los Países Bajos, conquistar el mercado de Europa. SEOshop ofrece tiendas online preparadas para los clientes y realizadas a medida con un bajo coste, siendo líder de mercado en el Benelux en solo unos pocos años.

Los jóvenes empresarios de la compañía de Internet Ruud Stelder (consejero delegado) y Dennis Cuijpers (responsable tecnológico) fundaron la compañía en 2008. En la actualidad disponen de 37 jóvenes profesionales empleados. Ahora, SEOshop presta servicio a 3.000 clientes de los Países Bajos, Bélgica y Alemania, principalmente PYMES, pero también grandes compañías y organizaciones como Philips y Dance4life. El año pasado se informó de un aumento de los beneficios de un 250%, y se espera que este año se consiga un aumento de un 300%.

La plataforma debe su éxito a la sencillez y facilidad de uso según cree Stelder. "Hemos eliminado las preocupaciones para nuestros clientes. Les suministramos las herramientas para el diseño y mantenemos su propia tienda online profesional sin que necesiten conocimiento técnico", declaró.

Las tiendas se actualizan de forma automática con nuevas características, y se pueden encontrar con facilidad en Google. SEOshop cuenta incluso con su propia app-store, que permite a los clientes ampliar su tienda online y añadir nuevas herramientas de marketing, pago o información.

La plataforma funciona como servicio SaaS, que significa software como servicio. Esto indica que los clientes no han de invertir miles de euros en la construcción de tiendas web en su propio servidor, sino que pagan una pequeña cantidad mensual por el software que alquilan en la nube.

Con una ronda de serie A, SEOshop ha atraído a 1,1 millones de euros procedentes de HENQ Venture Capital, ofreciendo a la compañía la oportunidad de conquistar el mercado de Europa. Albert Geertjes, antiguo ejecutivo de Hewlett-Packard, junto a Coen van Duiven, consejero delegado de HENQ Venture Capital, se han unido al consejo de dirección.

"El mercado alemán en concreto está preparado para la interrupción", comentó Coen van Duiven, consejero delegado de HENQ. "Es relativamente conservador frente al mercado de los Países Bajos, y las PYMEs acaban de comenzar a fijarse en las soluciones SaaS de coste contenida y flexible, además de más allá de las soluciones más complicadas y caras de tipo Open Source como Magento".
