Cloudwords and Acquia Partner to Deliver New Integration for Multilingual Drupal Websites

"Cloudwords for Drupal" Delivers a First for Enterprise Companies Seeking Translation Management Capabilities for Drupal-Based Websites

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/13 -- Cloudwords, the first cloud-based translation management application, today announced the launch of Cloudwords for Drupal, a first of its kind integration with a translation management platform for the world's largest open source content management system (CMS). Acquia, the enterprise guide to Drupal, is a key partner in bringing this module to organizations using Drupal with an integration and automation capability that has not previously been available. Today's announcement marks a first for the translation management industry, as Cloudwords will be the first translation management platform to offer pre-packaged integration with Drupal 7.

In today's real-time and dynamic global landscape, managing content changes, multilingual content, and the translation process is difficult and prone to error. Drupal provides a robust multilingual foundation, however, translation at scale has been challenging. The Cloudwords for Drupal module alleviates these challenges with cost, quality and time efficiency, which has, until now, been unavailable within the marketplace.

The new Cloudwords for Drupal module ensures that the days of "copy and paste" or low quality computer-based machine translations are over. The new module provides a deep integration between the Cloudwords platform and Drupal 7 to allows users the ability to:

  • Easily define the content that needs to be translated within Drupal;
  • Automatically sync Drupal content into Cloudwords for high-quality localization and translation via a translation vendor of the user's choice; and
  • Automatically sync the client-approved multilingual content from Cloudwords into Drupal.

A process that once took Drupal users weeks or months to accomplish can now be completed in a few hours or several days.

"We are excited about partnering with Cloudwords to simplify translation management. Cloudwords enables site owners to use any vendor or translator of their choice. It's fast and easy to get up and running, offers seamless integration with Drupal's existing multilingual capabilities and provides a streamlined translation process for Drupal websites," said Joe Wykes, Vice President of Channels at Acquia.

By partnering with Acquia, Cloudwords is taking the benefits of this new module directly to organizations using Drupal. This partnership with Acquia enables customers to benefit from a seamless integration between Cloudwords for Drupal and Drupal 7, ensuring customers easily reap the growing benefits of the Cloudwords Translation Management platform.

"It's important to our customers to know they can run a multilingual website, translate content in an effective manner and be able to achieve this with both time and cost efficiencies. Until today, this ability to go global within the Drupal community, simply wasn't possible," said Michael Meinhardt, Cloudwords CEO. "We are excited to work with Acquia to deliver Cloudwords for Drupal and extend this integration and automation to an entirely new set of organizations that will be able to feel the power of Drupal and experience it as part of the world's most successful Translation Management platform."

The cloud promises new levels of agility and cost-savings for Big Data, data warehousing and analytics. But it’s challenging to understand all the options – from IaaS and PaaS to newer services like HaaS (Hadoop as a Service) and BDaaS (Big Data as a Service). In her session at @BigDataExpo at @ThingsExpo, Hannah Smalltree, a director at Cazena, provided an educational overview of emerging “as-a-service” options for Big Data in the cloud. A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...
Whether your IoT service is connecting cars, homes, appliances, wearable, cameras or other devices, one question hangs in the balance – how do you actually make money from this service? The ability to turn your IoT service into profit requires the ability to create a monetization strategy that is flexible, scalable and working for you in real-time. It must be a transparent, smoothly implemented strategy that all stakeholders – from customers to the board – will be able to understand and comprehe...
When people aren’t talking about VMs and containers, they’re talking about serverless architecture. Serverless is about no maintenance. It means you are not worried about low-level infrastructural and operational details. An event-driven serverless platform is a great use case for IoT. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Animesh Singh, an STSM and Lead for IBM Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, will detail how to build a distributed serverless, polyglot, microservices framework using open source tec...

The idea of comparing data in motion (at the sensor level) to data at rest (in a Big Data server warehouse) with predictive analytics in the cloud is very appealing to the industrial IoT sector. The problem Big Data vendors have, however, is access to that data in motion at the sensor location. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Scott Allen, CMO of FreeWave, discussed how as IoT is increasingly adopted by industrial markets, there is going to be an increased demand for sensor data from the outermos...

In addition to all the benefits, IoT is also bringing new kind of customer experience challenges - cars that unlock themselves, thermostats turning houses into saunas and baby video monitors broadcasting over the internet. This list can only increase because while IoT services should be intuitive and simple to use, the delivery ecosystem is a myriad of potential problems as IoT explodes complexity. So finding a performance issue is like finding the proverbial needle in the haystack.
