MELBOURNE, Fla., Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Innovative Routines International (IRI), Inc., The CoSort Company™ - a leading developer of big data transformation and data-centric protection software - and Actuate Corporation, The BIRT Company™ - delivering more insights to more people than all BI companies combined - have announced a partnership to offer seamless, end-to-end big data preparation and presentation in Eclipse.
Eclipse is the leading open source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) worldwide, and the foundation for both the "IRI Workbench" GUI (supporting CoSort® and its compatible spin-offs), and BIRT, the Business Intelligence Reporting Tool that Actuate supports and extends with dashboards, scorecards, predictive analytics, and other sophisticated data visualizations and interactions.
According to IRI Business Development VP David Friedland, IRI and Actuate will collaborate on, and co-market, the direct transfer of data filtered, sorted, and aggregated in CoSort Sort Control Language (SortCL) programs into industry-driven BIRT templates. Beyond the huge amounts of structured data franchised (subsetted for BI) in SortCL, Friedland added that "encrypted or masked data from FieldShield, test data from RowGen, and migrated data from NextForm, will also feed BIRT applications in the same GUI."
Sunny Choi, Actuate's Director of Platform Partnerships, predicted that "the integration of IRI's big data transformation technology with ActuateOne's BIRT extensions in Eclipse will result in one of the most robust, cost-effective, and user-friendly big data processing and reporting combinations possible."
