"Netflix regards its investment in open source technology and community participation as a strategic advantage, and we have seen growing interest in our Netflix Open Source Software platform for large scale cloud deployments," said Adrian Cockcroft, Director, Cloud Architecture, Netflix. "Sharing our experience and engaging with other industry leaders at the Open Source Think Tank will help Netflix continue to build momentum around our work and cross pollinate ideas for the evolving NetflixOSS platform."
The eighth annual event, focused on the business and technology of open source, will examine various models and benefits of community engagement used to drive internal and external value and innovation from cross-industry collaboration.
"Red Hat understands very well the growing role open source is playing in the enterprise, and the need to address flexibility, interoperability and business-driven results," said Lee Congdon, CIO, Red Hat. "Open Source Think Tank allows us to engage with other industry leaders from many verticals in a unique setting to share observations, trends and best practices and discuss real-world challenges to the continued maturation of open source."
Think Tank attendees include CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, legal experts, investors and senior executives. The exclusive, invitation-only event brings industry leaders together to discuss the current state and future direction of commercial open source.
"Think Tank attendees lead businesses which leverage open source technologies and methods to innovate and create value," said Andrew Aitken, Senior Vice President, Olliance Consulting. "Bringing together C-level executives, legal experts, investors and community leaders, we have the unique opportunity to discuss and impact the current state and future direction of open source."
The 2013 Open Source Think Tank will be held at the Solage Resort in Napa, Cali. Co-hosted by Olliance Group and DLA Piper, the conference includes an interactive format of group sessions, exercises and case studies. The event will be led by co-hosts Andrew Aitken, Founder, Olliance Group, and Mark Radcliffe, Partner, DLA Piper.
