FREIBURG, Germany, February 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
On April 8, 2013 Jedox will release Jedox Version 5, their self-service business intelligence and analytics suite. Jedox 5 offers many new features and increases planning, analysis and reporting capabilities and performance. In addition, for the first time, Jedox will offer their new Base version at no cost, at the same release level as the Premium version.
Until recently, Jedox's free Open Source version has always been 15 to 18 months older than the latest version. Beginning with Version 5, this will change, as OLAP Server source code becomes available as an Open Source license on SourceForge. "This step will solidify our strategy of providing a cost-effective BI and performance management platform," said Jedox CEO and founder, Kristian Raue, explaining the corporation's new licensing strategy.
From now on, Jedox Base and Jedox Premium will feature the same OLAP Server-with complete functionality. What's more, the Base version of Jedox will contain an Excel client, also free of charge. This will enable users to implement powerful BI and self-service performance management solutions without license costs. Jedox Base database size, dimensions, or number of Base users will not be restricted in any way.
Jedox Premium differs from Jedox Base by providing extended capabilities like advanced Excel functionality, web environment, mobile device support, ETL, SAP integration, user access control, and GPU-powered co-processing for working with large datasets.
Bonus feature: For the first thirty days after installation all Jedox Base version users will have the opportunity to test the functions of Jedox Premium for free. Purchasing a Premium license key will enable you to leverage in Jedox Premium all the functionalities, databases, and user interfaces modeled in Jedox Base-without having to make changes. Alternatively, after thirty days users may request from Jedox a free license key for the Base product.
