BonitaSoft, the leader in open source business process management (BPM), today announced that it continues to experience significant growth and acceptance of its solutions worldwide, more than doubling its annual revenues, customers, partnerships and employment in 2012.
The company signed 260 new customers in 2012, bringing the total to 525. Growth was particularly strong in software subscription packs, with 156 new subscription customers added in 2012, a 134 percent increase over 2011. With commercial customers in 61 countries and open source deployments in 193 countries, Bonita Open Solution surpassed 2 million downloads by the end of 2012.
The company added more than 40 employees in 2012, increasing global staffing to more than 100. The company more than doubled the size of its R&D team, continuing its commitment to customers and innovation. It also made significant investments in Europe, Latin America and North America sales, marketing and customer care teams.
Launched in June 2009, BonitaSoft has continued to experience strong growth across a wide array of industries and geographies. Growth was especially robust in North America, which experienced an almost 400 percent revenue increase year over year, and in the financial services and public sectors.
Recent customers include MathCraft, a provider of security software and services for corporate, government and military organizations; Teach for America, an organization that works in partnership with communities to expand educational opportunity for children facing the challenges of poverty; United Property & Casualty Insurance Company (UPC), a writer and servicer of property and casualty insurance; Credit Agricole, the world’s sixth-largest bank by total assets; and Michelin, a designer, developer and marketer of Michelin tourism products and digital services.
BonitaSoft also generated significant momentum in its partner channel. It now has 90 technology and systems integration partners, more than double the total at the end of 2011. New partners added in 2012 include CGI, Ippon Technologies, Interact SPA, MI Technologies, SOA Software Factory, Insight Consulting, Cognus and Konosys.
BonitaSoft officials cited the increasing importance of BPM in today’s enterprise environments as the major driver of the company’s continued growth.
“Businesses are looking for ways to improve operational efficiency at an affordable price. BonitaSoft products and services allow them to do that,” said Miguel Valdés Faura, BonitaSoft CEO and co-founder. “Our mission has been to stay laser focused on democratizing the BPM market – and our efforts are paying off. Companies are starting with small department-level projects, proving success, and moving to make BPM ubiquitous in their organization. We are excited to help more companies realize their BPM journey in 2013.”
Acceptance of BonitaSoft’s solutions also was reflected in its receipt of industry awards in 2012. The Bonita Open Solution won the Market Award, given out by OW2, the open source community for infrastructure software. BonitaSoft also received the “Next Generation” award from Syntec Numerique and Ernst & Young, and was honored by InfoWorld with a second consecutive “Bossie Award,” signifying excellence in business-oriented open source software.
Bonita Open Solution is a comprehensive business process management suite that enables organizations of any size to model, automate and improve processes quickly and easily.
“A business process management suite must be elegantly designed to benefit both process developers and users,” said Research Manager Carl Lehmann of 451 Research. “BonitaSoft has done well in this regard and is a good fit for many organizations seeking a quick and powerful way to get started with BPM.”
