SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Jaspersoft, the intelligence inside applications and business processes, today announced the general availability of its business intelligence platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. The offering, which can be run standalone or embedded inside another application, means users can purchase cloud-based Business Intelligence (BI) software on an hourly basis, with no user or data limitations and no monthly fee.
Jaspersoft's BI server, available on AWS Marketplace, starts at $0.40/hr. (+ applicable AWS EC2 charges). The BI offering automatically configures AWS services, allowing users to go from purchasing the software to working with their data in a matter of minutes. This means that customers can very quickly and cost effectively get insight from their data in Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS), Amazon Redshift, AWS's new data warehousing service that was announced in November 2012, as well as traditional relational data stores.
Supporting Quotes
"Jaspersoft's offering on AWS Marketplace enables customers to easily find, purchase and 1-click deploy a BI Server in minutes," said Terry Wise, Head of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, AWS. "Their offering provides a modern, intuitive business intelligence suite that is well suited for cloud deployments. We're pleased the Jaspersoft BI offering is now available on AWS Marketplace."
"This is about market disruption," said Karl Van den Bergh, Jaspersoft Vice President of Product and Alliances. "We are going after the petabytes of data in the cloud that have not yet been tapped for insight because current BI offerings are too expensive and too restrictive. With this new BI service, we are allowing millions of developers and IT professionals to easily and cost-effectively power the intelligence inside their cloud applications."
"This is exciting news that promises to have a considerable impact on the larger business intelligence field," said Claudia Imhoff, Intelligent Solutions CEO and Principal Analyst. "Jaspersoft should certainly be considered a leader in delivering BI for the new IT stack and modern deployment techniques like Amazon RDS and Amazon Redshift. These features are increasingly vital characteristics for enterprise usage, which will remain the case for the foreseeable future."
