LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- LabKey Software and De Novo Software are working together to provide direct export capabilities from FCS Express™ 4 Flow Cytometry to LabKey Server. The collaboration will allow high-volume flow cytometry users to leverage not only the report generation and analysis capabilities of FCS Express, but also the sophisticated web-based data environment provided by LabKey Server, including flexible tools for quality control and workflow customization.
The new functionality allows statistics, images, layout files, PDFs, FCS files, and more to be exported directly from FCS Express to LabKey Server. Once the results are in LabKey Server, users can perform quality control in a traceable manner, then integrate, analyze, visualize and securely share their results. LabKey Server allows integration of many types of data, from descriptive study observations to large quantities of assay data across data sources. The system supports reproducible, convenient analysis and visualization of these data through a built-in R scripting environment and many other tools. Integrating LabKey Server with FCS Express 4 Flow Cytometry will help researchers collaborate by providing web-based sharing, editing, and display of both files and data.
David Novo, De Novo Software's president said: "It is a pleasure to partner with the best-in-breed technology like LabKey Server. FCS Express customers are generating increasing amounts of results data, given FCS Express' easy-to-use batch processing features and the rapid growth in the amount of data generated using flow cytometry. LabKey Server provides our customers with a sophisticated means for organizing all this data, integrated directly into their daily workflows. These new capabilities should allow FCS Express users to get even more out of their existing datasets."
LabKey Software's president, Britt Piehler, agreed: "Advances in flow cytometry technology and FCS Express's intuitive high-throughput workflow support can quickly lead to an explosion of data, presenting researchers with new challenges in data organization, integration, and collaboration. We are excited that LabKey Server's powerful data management capabilities can complement FCS Express's impressive analysis features, allowing researchers to confidently stay ahead of the curve."
