"The acquisition of Thinking Instruments serves as the latest milestone in Ingres Corporation's progress as an independent company," said Terry Garnett, chairman and chief executive officer of Ingres Corp. "Ingres is a global growth company focused on expansion, and Thinking Instruments presents a unique opportunity to add a self-sustaining, service-enhancing capacity to our portfolio."
An Ingres reseller for 13 years, Thinking Instruments brings a wealth of experience with customers using Ingres in the public sector and in various industries, including steel and energy, as well as experience building and servicing Ingres-based applications.
Mr. Dargo additionally emphasized how both Thinking Instruments and Ingres Corporation's customers will benefit from the purchase: "Thinking Instruments' customers now have direct access to Ingres's broader support and services organizations for reliable delivery of critical infrastructure services, and Ingres's customers benefit from Thinking Instruments' application development, geographical and industry-specific expertise," he said.
"The acquisition will greatly benefit our customers because they will have at their disposal the resources of a multi-national company intently focused on their customer satisfaction, just as Thinking Instruments has been," said Jorg Harnisch, former president of Thinking Instruments and now vice president of emerging markets with Ingres Corporation.
