Symphony Teleca Unveils Ethernet Audio Video Bridging Solution for the Automotive Industry

Symphony Teleca Corporation, the services organization dedicated exclusively to helping clients manage the global convergence of software, the cloud and connected devices, today unveiled its Ethernet Audio Video Bridging (AVB) solution for the automotive industry. The increasing need to support lower cost and high performance in-vehicle networks demands the adoption of new standards like Ethernet AVB. The company’s solution provides automotive OEMs, Tier1s and silicon suppliers a fast and low risk track to Ethernet AVB products.

With increasing multimedia requirements for in-vehicle-infotainment Ethernet AVB provides higher bandwidth and more stable network management capabilities compared to Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) and Controller Area Network (CAN) standards. With a time-synchronized network for audio, video and control data on a single cable it delivers a highly reliable, low latency and low cost in-vehicle network with guaranteed quality of service (QoS). Through simple lightweight cabling, plug-and-play capabilities, scalable and versatile topology support like star, bus and tree, it is the ideal standard for future proof in-vehicle networks.
