BETHESDA, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 12/04/12 --
WHAT: Arxan Technologies, a leading provider of software security solutions that protect the global App Economy, will showcase its Android application protection suite for both native and Java apps at AnDevCon IV: The Android Developer Conference, booth #303. AnDevCon IV is the leading technical conference for software developers building Android apps, offering more than 75 classes focused solely on Android development.
WHEN: Dec. 4-7, 2012
WHERE: Hyatt Regency, Burlingame, Calif.
Given the open-source nature of Android, Google recommends, at minimum, the usage of code obfuscation to protect Android apps from attack. However, hackers can easily leverage widely available decompilation and code analysis tools to defeat obfuscation-only solutions and therefore seriously lack adequate protection from reverse-engineering and tampering attacks at the application layer which increasingly contains highly valued assets, critical security logic or sensitive data.
In August 2012, Arxan released its State of Security in the App Economy: Mobile Apps under Attack report which showed that 100 percent of the Top 100 paid Android apps had been hacked. The report revealed the widespread prevalence of "cracked" mobile apps and the financial impact befalling the multi-billion dollar App Economy due to compromised brands, lost revenues, intellectual property (IP) theft, and piracy.
Arxan provides end-to-end security for Android apps (Java and Native), enabling protection of the code, data and cryptographic keys resident within and leveraged as part of an Android application across multiple devices and processing environments. The sum of Arxan's layered security technology prevents passive and active analysis and delivers resilient app integrity in a proven manner which does not impact source code, application functioning or the development process.
To schedule a briefing with Arxan at AnDevCon IV (booth #303) and learn more about its Android mobile app protection suite, please contact Kelly Poffenberger at kelly@lutzpr.com.
