Eucalyptus and HP New Best Friends

Eucalyptus’ other BFF is Canonical whose latest Ubuntu distro includes Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus Systems and HP are new BFFs.

The little open source cloud vendor now run by former MySQL CEO Marten Mickos has joined HP's Developer and Solution Partner Program. Eucalyptus' other BFF is Canonical whose latest Ubuntu distro includes Eucalyptus.

As a buddy of HP, there's some mumble about Eucalyptus' private cloud technology on optimized HP computing and storage hardware and delivering tailor-made solutions. Well, anyway, it's verified.

Eucalyptus also works with Dell, Novell and VMware, as well as RightScale, newScale and Wavemaker.

The cloud start-up has also started its own partner program to grow its ecosystem. It promises participants additional options, improved support and increased revenue opportunities like the Eucalyptus Partner Cloud, a dedicated cluster of high-performance servers hosted at Coresite that's running the latest version of the Eucalyptus cloud infrastructure software available exclusively to partners for developing and testing their Eucalyptus-related technologies.

Partners can use command-line tools, build and run images, and test with other third-party software on the Eucalyptus Partner Cloud.

The program includes the usual levels.
