Jul. 17, 2005 01:15 PM
NEW YORK, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- iWay Software, an Information Builders company and the leading adaptive software provider, today announced that it has joined the Eclipse Foundation, an open source community dedicated to the implementation of a universal development platform. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20020619/IBLOGOhttp://www.newscom.co... ) "We are supporting the Eclipse initiative because we believe Eclipse will substantially speed the deployment of service-oriented architectures (SOA)," says John Senor, president of iWay Software. "iWay Software is very committed to simplifying enterprise integration, and with our new plugs-ins for Eclipse, we can seamlessly interconnect Java composite applications to the iWay Adaptive Framework." The iWay Adaptive Framework is a suite of productivity tools and over 280 packaged adapters that allows IT to increase productivity and its ability to make a business more competitive. The Adaptive Framework incorporates years of middleware and solutions architecture expertise to provide the foundation of an enterprise's service-oriented architecture. Without the iWay Adaptive Framework, creating Web services and other interfaces to disparate, proprietary information systems is an expensive and complex task that requires significant management attention. It requires skills in multiple programming paradigms, programming languages, application packages, operating systems, databases, and other technologies. "We are very pleased to have iWay Software join the Eclipse Foundation," says Mike Milinkovich, the foundation's executive director. "iWay is well known as a major adapter provider. As an add-in member, they are helping to push forward the open source integration efforts of the Eclipse Foundation." About Eclipse Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on providing an extensible development platform and application frameworks for building software. Eclipse provides extensible tools and frameworks that span the software development lifecycle, including support for modeling, language development environments for Java, C/C++ and others, testing and performance, business intelligence, rich client applications, and embedded development. A large, vibrant ecosystem of major technology vendors, innovative start-ups, universities and research institutions, and individuals extend, complement, and support the Eclipse Platform. The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit, member supported corporation that hosts the Eclipse projects. Full details of Eclipse and the Eclipse Foundation are available at http://www.eclipse.org/. About iWay Software iWay Software, an Information Builders company and the world's leading adaptive software vendor, accelerates business integration by providing tools that make service-oriented architectures easy to implement. Clients achieve short-term ROI by using iWay to reduce custom programming and to solve problems quickly, while incrementally creating an architecture that supports long-term projects. The biggest names in software, including BEA and Microsoft, use iWay adapters to simplify access to ERP and CRM systems, messaging, legacy systems, e-business protocols like AS2 and ebXML, and more. Additional message transformation and data integration make iWay a natural integration choice -- standalone or with other middleware. For more information visit http://www.iwaysoftware.com/.
