Obama May Win by a Landslide: Thomas M. DeFrank

Also in the book, DeFrank writes about Ford's opinion of Bill Clinton's addiction to women. Ford says about Clinton: 'He's sick - he's got an addiction. He needs treatment. He's sick. You know there is treatment for this kind of addiction. A lot of men have gone through the treatment with a lot of success. But he won't do it, because he is in denial.' DeFrank saved his thoughts on the upcoming election in a separate speech, which he gavae the next day. 'If Obama wins, he will win by a landslide margin. If McCain wins, it will be a very small margin.' thinks DeFrank.

Oracle Buys BEA - Success, Arrogance, Rise and Fall

Last week we were copied in on an internal e-mail from a software company with a market cap in excess of five billion dollars. As I read through this long e-mail thread, which included references to our company, I couldn't help but reflect on the past. I forwarded this e-mail to their CEO and he acknowledged its receipt. History is repeating itself, I realized, and I wanted to share my thoughts with our readers and with the CEO of this software company.

Welcome to the First Issue of Private Jet Charters & Travel

To accommodate this increasingly fast-paced world we live in, we are excited to introduce Private Jet Charters & Travel (www.JetChartersMagazine.com), a supplement to YV&C (www.YachtChartersMagazine.com). When we published our 'Air Charter' column in the premier issue of International Yacht Vacations & Charters, we could not predict how popular the 'private air travel' topic would be. We received feedback from many of our readers and requests for a wider coverage of the new 'jet card' phenomenon. Having worked closely with the leaders of this emerging industry, we are now pleased to present this exclusive magazine - a detailed look at private air travel.

The first time I read Mike Wilson's book, The Difference Between God and Larry Ellison: *God Doesn't Think He's Larry Ellison, during the summer of 1999, technology IPOs and dot.coms were at their peak, not to mention Greenspan's irrational exuberance.

We have exciting news for you. The qualified circulation of Java Developer's Journal print edition reached a record high of 70,017 for the June issue, according to BPA International's June 1999 initial audit report. For the June issue JDJ printed and distributed over 104,000 copies, including 13,000 bonus copies distributed at JavaOne in San Francisco.
Big Money In Java

In this month's cover story we focus on how to earn big money with Java on three levels. JDJ's feature brings you practical tips for the Java programmer by both Ed Zebrowski, JDJ's product review editor, and Sean Rhody. We also have a somewhat technical discussion by Juergen Brendel covering the software engineering issues in startup companies. We conclude the cover story with a feature on the "Java Electronic Commerce Framework," which concerns Sun's JECF architecture for established businesses.
