TORONTO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/17/09 -- Infobright, the open source data warehousing company, today announced that Information Management has honored its customer, Database Emailer, with a 2009 Innovative Solution Award for the results the company has been able to realize in implementing Infobright Enterprise Edition (IEE), a powerful analytic database. IEE has enabled Database Emailer to cost effectively support the heavy data management requirements of its internet marketing business, which must be able to run detailed queries across millions of records.
Information Management's Innovative Solution Awards recognize solutions that are groundbreaking and provide quantifiable business value for end-users. Database Emailer was named a winner in the Data Warehousing category.
"Our judges looked for innovative technology implementations that helped to create competitive advantage and positively impacted the bottom line," said Julie Langenkamp, Information Management editor-in-chief. "Database Emailer's implementation of Infobright's technology best exemplified these winning qualities in the Data Warehousing category."
"Infobright's innovative, self-managing analytic database has enabled us to affordably deliver the fast query response times that our customers demand," said Al Inga, president and CEO of Database Emailer. "Since deploying IEE in March of this year, we've more than tripled the rate of new customers signed -- a testament to the power and scalability of the solution. Our company is honored that Information Management has recognized the significant benefits we've been able to achieve with Infobright."
After launching a service last fall through which customers could search for consumer or business opt-in email records, Database Emailer faced challenges managing growing volumes of data; with the heavy load taxing the company's storage capacity and IT resources. With IEE, Database Emailer can now support automatic queries with multiple search parameters across 300 million email records -- more than five times the amount of data it was able to handle previously. Database Emailer customers can also run their own queries through an online interface, rather than having to email requests to (and wait for a response from) the company's IT staff. As a result, Database Emailer has been able to save up to 25 IT man-hours a day, slash query turn around time from seven minutes to 10 seconds and run queries across a broader pool of records, ultimately providing better, faster service for its customers.
"We're pleased that IEE offered a solution that perfectly matched Database Emailer's requirements and helped drive their business," said Mark Burton, Infobright CEO. "We congratulate them on the results they've been able to achieve -- fast turnaround of complex queries involving large amounts of data, without overburdening IT resources."
